Viva Global Workers Struggle for Justice (Gurgaon

Anwar Ansari was abducted on the 25th August 2010 Morning by the hired goons of P & D Contractors and the Management of the Viva Global Factory. He is a permanent worker of the Viva Global Factory. The abduction was a systematic design to terrorise workers workers into submission and NOT ask for their legitimate legal rights as factory workers at the Viva Global Factory.

During captivity, Ansari was forcibly held in a vehicle, which roamed the streets of Gurgaon and Delhi. He was taken to an unknown destination and was badly beaten with hockey sticks and other blunt objects.

His ordeal ended 14 hrs later, due to the pressure mounted upon the law enforcement machinery and the Viva Global Management to release him.

He was released after Ms. Anannya Bhattacharjee, President of the Garments and Allied Workers Union (GAWU) went on an indefinite hunger strike at the factory gate.
